The announcement: “AEL FC LTD informs the team’s fans that, following the official notification received from the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) regarding the outcome of the investigation into external interference with the VAR system, it has filed a formal complaint with the Cyprus Police, requesting an investigation into all evidence pertaining to external interference in the operation and review of the specific play via VAR.
The results of the CFF’s investigation fully vindicate AEL, as they confirm the allegations and information that were presented to the relevant authorities regarding the procedure in question. In light of the investigation’s findings, AEL is asking the Cyprus Police to fully investigate all evidence regarding the circumstances and the manner in which external interference or/and influence on the operation and review of that specific play via VAR, as well as to determine why the procedure was not carried out in accordance with established protocols and why there was unauthorized interference by a third party.
AEL has provided the competent authorities with all the evidence and information at its disposal and will fully cooperate with any investigation or proceedings deemed necessary in the context of the inquiry into this matter. We expect the Cyprus Football Association to do the same.
AEL will keep fans informed of any further actions, developments, and decisions regarding this case, in accordance with the established procedure.”
