Kylian Mbappé continues to make history in a Real Madrid jersey, having now reached 100 goals across all competitions and joining an extremely exclusive list of club legends.
It took the Frenchman 116 games to reach 100 goals, making him the fourth-fastest player in the history of “La Reina” to achieve this feat. Ahead of him are only Ferenc Puskás, who needed 99 matches, Cristiano Ronaldo with 105, and Alfredo Di Stéfano with 114.
The milestone actually came in a Clásico, with Mbappé scoring twice against Barcelona and leading Real Madrid to a victory that ended the Catalans’ perfect record in this season’s league.
The 27-year-old has already established an impressive record against Barcelona, having scored eight goals in seven games with Real Madrid against the “Blaugrana,” across all competitions. This is the best performance by any player in his first seven Clásicos of the 21st century, surpassing the six goals scored by Lionel Messi.
Equally impressive is his record in away matches at Barcelona’s home stadium. Kylian Mbappé has scored four goals in two away Clásicos as a Real Madrid player, a feat no other player on the team has matched since the 2013–14 season.
The victory also had historical significance for the overall balance of the Clásico. Real Madrid now holds a 107-106 lead in wins over Barcelona, with 52 draws between the two teams. In fact, the Madrid side has not trailed in the overall head-to-head record since 2019.
In that same match, José Mourinho also extended his own winning streak. The Portuguese coach remains undefeated in his last five Clásicos as Real Madrid’s manager, with a record of three wins and two draws.
Only two coaches in Real Madrid’s history have achieved a longer unbeaten streak against Barcelona: Miguel Muñoz, with seven consecutive wins from 1962 to 1965, and Vicente del Bosque, with seven consecutive Clásicos without a loss from 2001 to 2003.
