Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party has emerged as the leading party in Israel’s elections, according to exit polls by television networks Channel 11 and Channel 12. However, neither of the two rival camps has secured a clear victory, with Gadi Eizenkot’s bloc appearing stronger than Netanyahu’s, according to Channel 11.
Specifically, Channel 12’s exit poll gives Likud 24 of the Knesset’s 120 seats, compared to 22 seats for Eisenkot’s party.
According to Channel 11, Likud has secured 25 seats, while Eisenkot’s party has 21.
Despite Likud’s lead, Channel 11 estimates that the parties supporting Eisenkot collectively hold more seats than Netanyahu’s bloc.
The initial exit polls do not, however, indicate a clear winner, leaving the question of the formation of the next government open.
