“Be careful what you’re given”: SOS regarding illegal preparations—where they’re found

What the pharmaceutical services' inspections revealed
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Almost every day, complaints and reports are received by pharmaceutical authorities regarding the administration of illegal preparations by unauthorized individuals, primarily outside of a clinical setting. Such as hair salons, beauty salons, gyms, and medical centers.

According to data obtained by ALPHA, pharmaceutical authorities conducted 21 investigations in 2026, with inspectors on-site to investigate the illegal sale or administration of pharmaceutical products. In nine of these cases, illegal preparations were found, which were seized and reported.

“These may have been commercial premises, non-medical facilities, but they may also have been medical facilities that were using pharmaceutical products illegally. However, there are cases where we received a complaint, conducted inspections, but found nothing wrong. Perhaps the products were taken somewhere else, or maybe the complaint was malicious.”

Social media is also under scrutiny by pharmaceutical authorities. In nine cases, advertisements for such products were investigated, and complaints were filed with the authorities. At the same time, another 14 cases were investigated based on findings from independent operations conducted by the authorities.

“If the police find something somewhere—as we’ve had cases like this before— and suspects that it is a pharmaceutical product being used as such, then they will call us to verify that it is indeed a pharmaceutical product and should not be used.”

Pharmaceutical authorities are once again sounding the alarm for the public.

“Everyone needs to be very careful because the relevant authorities are going above and beyond to inform the public, but as you’ve seen, some products still slip through the cracks despite the inspections. In other words, it’s not just the various commercial establishments anymore—now it’s happening in people’s homes as well.”
