ALPHANEWSLIVE

Petrolina AEK secured its third win in four games with an 85-69 road victory over MZT Skopje in the 4th round of the FIBA Europe Cup.

The home team got off to a better start with a seven-point run in the first two minutes, but Petrolina AEK responded with a run of its own, a nine-point run that ended halfway through the first quarter with a three-pointer by Markos (7-9).

At the 8-minute mark, another three-pointer by Mucius extended the lead to seven points (14-21), while at the end of the period it narrowed to three (20-23) following a three-pointer by Boshaleski in the final seconds.

In the early stages of the second quarter, the lead changed hands several times, with the yellow-and-greens holding a seven-point lead (40–47) at the 19-minute mark after Tate’s two-pointer. That was also the margin at the end of the first half, as each team scored one basket afterward—one by Varner for the home team and one by McKinnis for the visitors.

Petrolina AEK got off to a perfect start in the third quarter with a three-pointer by Markos that pushed the lead into double digits (42-52), and as time went on, they managed to widen the lead even further, ending the quarter up by 18 points (53-71).

Managing to maintain a comfortable lead at that level throughout the fourth quarter, the Larnaca team ultimately secured the win with a score of 85-69.
