Questions are being raised regarding the visit of Maria Angela Olguín, the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy on the Cyprus Issue, to occupied Nicosia, just a few hours before she was scheduled to meet again with the President of the Republic, Nicos Christodoulides, at the Presidential Palace.
The reason? As evidenced by photos posted on social media accounts maintained by Turkey’s so-called “embassy” in the occupied territories, Ms. Olgin spoke with Turkey’s so-called “ambassador” to the pseudo-state, Ali Murat Batseri.

As of this writing, the agenda for Ms. Olgin’s meeting with Mr. Batseri remains unknown, as no relevant announcement has been issued. The Turkish Cypriot press reports, however, that Olgin and Batseri “exchanged views on the Cyprus issue.”
