Members of the Dhekelia British Bases Police are conducting an intensive investigation, in cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, following the discovery of a portion of a human skull on the beach “Eukalyptoi.”
The skull was found at noon on Wednesday by a civilian walking in the area, who immediately notified the authorities.
According to initial assessments, it is a fragment of a human skull that was washed ashore by the sea. According to Alpha correspondent Katerina Ioannou, an anthropologist was called to the beach to examine the bone, which appears to be the back of the skull.

Police also dug into the sand to determine whether there were any other buried human remains or related evidence connected to the discovery. At this time, there is no further information regarding the identity of the body.
Specialized examinations are expected to be conducted in the near future to determine the gender and time of death.
The investigation has been expanded to include authorities in the Republic of Cyprus, as the missing persons case file has been opened. Authorities are trying to determine whether the skull is linked to any unsolved disappearance cases. Another possibility is that it belongs to a migrant who lost his life under unknown circumstances.
