Yiannis Okkas is no longer on the Omonia Aradippou bench, as the “Doves” announced that they had mutually agreed to end their collaboration.
Yesterday’s (11/6) comeback loss to Nea Salamina (2-3) was the straw that broke the camel’s back and led the club’s management to decide to remove the 49-year-old coach from the team’s bench.
Omonia Aradippou has not gotten off to a good start at all this year in the Cyprus League by Stoiximan and sits in 12th place with six points, having recorded one win, three draws, and five losses in nine matches.
Now, the focus is on finding the right person to take the reins of the team and turn things around.
The full announcement reads: “Omonia Aradippou announces the mutually agreed-upon termination of its collaboration with head coach Giannos Okkas.
We warmly thank Giannos for his excellent collaboration and contribution to the team, and we wish him all the best in both his professional and personal life.”
