Caught with contraband cigarettes, 32-year-old in Paralimni faces heavy fine

Yesterday afternoon, police in Paralimni seized a large quantity of untaxed tobacco products.

Specifically, members of the Famagusta Crime Prevention Unit, acting on a court warrant, conducted a search of a 32-year-old man’s residence in Paralimni, during which the following items were found and seized:

Twenty-two drivers were caught driving while intoxicated; hundreds of traffic stops and complaints on Saturday night

• 135 packs of cigarettes.
• 14 packs of tobacco.
• 7 packs of heated tobacco.

All confiscated items were handed over to customs officials, and the 32-year-old was issued an out-of-court fine of 1,500 euros.
