Three of her loved ones talk about their sister, the director, and their friend
November 4, 2025. It is the day Alexia Papalazarou passed away, leaving behind an irreplaceable void. One year later, we borrow a little of the light and love she spread and attempt to return it to her, by focusing on the life and work of the director who chose to make theater even in her most difficult moments.
Three of her closest loved ones, her brother Neophytos and her colleagues and friends Margarita Zachariou and Christina Christofia, speak to “Alpha on Sunday” about the person they were fortunate to know.
They talk about her first steps in theater, her life, her courageous battle with cancer, the moving performance through which she recounted her family’s tragic history, and the lasting impact she left on the Cypriot stage and in the hearts of art lovers.
