A large-scale operation, with the assistance of the Fire Department, was launched in Saittas, to recover the body of 61-year-old Olga Vasilieva from the well where, according to her, the 43-year-old man had thrown her.

At first glance, it appears that the unfortunate Olga sustained a head injury caused by a blunt object. Medical examiner Nicolas Charalambous was called to the scene to perform an autopsy.

It is recalled that earlier, following investigations by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department into a case under investigation involving kidnapping with the intent to commit premeditated murder—and as part of the ongoing interrogations — the 43-year-old suspect made a confession to investigators regarding the commission of the murder.

This concerns the disappearance of Olga Vasileva, in Limassol, with the 43-year-old suspect—who, according to witness accounts, had been in a relationship with the 61-year-old—currently being held in custody for six days.  The 43-year-old confessed to killing 61-year-old Olga and pointed out to investigators a specific spot where, according to his account, he threw the missing woman’s body into a well. The same reports indicate that the field in question, where the well was located, belonged to the victim.

Members of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department rushed to the scene, along with the 43-year-old man, who pointed out the location. The area was immediately placed under police control, and following the relevant investigations, the body of the unfortunate Olga was located and subsequently recovered. According to reports, however, it appears that the 43-year-old was very familiar with the spot in Saittas where the body of the unfortunate Olga was found inside the well.

The 43-year-old is expected to be brought before the court again on Sunday morning, this time on charges of premeditated murder.
