A man from Pakistan in Thessaloniki reported experiencing moments of horror at the hands of six of his compatriots, who, after sexually assaulting him and recording their actions on video, subsequently threw him into the waters of the Thermaic Gulf.
According to the 41-year-old victim’s complaint, the incident took place in the early hours of last Tuesday morning in an outdoor area near the Church of All Saints on the western side of the city. A 40-year-old man, along with a 34-year-old compatriot and four other unidentified individuals, beat him and gang-raped him, while one of them filmed their heinous acts.
In fact, the victim reported that they stabbed him in the arm, and immediately afterward, they forced him onto a motorcycle, transported him to the city center, and threw him into the sea.
The man was transported by an EKAB ambulance to a hospital in Thessaloniki and, after receiving first aid, was discharged.
Following the 41-year-old’s complaint, officers from the White Tower Crime Investigation and Prosecution Division managed to locate, yesterday morning in the Ampelokipi area, two of the alleged perpetrators and place them in handcuffs. They are two men from Pakistan, aged 40 and 34, against whom charges have been filed, as applicable, for rape, attempted murder, and violations of laws regarding weapons and the protection of personal data.
The suspects will be brought before the prosecutor.
