U.S. Elections: Alarm over bomb threats at schools and a polling place in ohio

The buildings were evacuated
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Bomb threats led to the evacuation of school buildings and a polling place in Ohio, with police authorities responding on Tuesday morning (Nov. 3), in the midst of the U.S. midterm elections.

In Toledo, police were alerted to a threat at Beverly Elementary School, where a polling place was operating. The building was evacuated as a precaution, resulting in a temporary suspension of voting.

A short time later, a second threat was reported at a venue where an event for educators was taking place. An evacuation order was issued there as well, and police forces, bomb disposal experts, and trained dogs were deployed to investigate.

It has not been clarified whether the two incidents are related.

Two more schools in Bowling Green were evacuated

Threatening phone calls were also received at the Connaught and Kenwood elementary schools in the nearby town of Bowling Green.

Authorities evacuated students and staff as a precaution and conducted searches of the buildings. Once it was confirmed that the premises were safe, the students returned to their classrooms and classes resumed as usual.

According to local authorities, they are investigating the possibility that the calls were instances of “swatting,” that is, false reports intended to provoke an unnecessary response from law enforcement.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the threats.
