King Charles was greatly annoyed by the delay in finding an umbrella to protect him from the rain that began to fall while the official ceremony marking the 45th anniversary of Antigua’s independence.

In a video from the ceremony, King Charles can be seen gesturing as if to ask, “Where is my umbrella?” and “Why are you taking so long?” while the Antiguan representative standing next to him appears equally anxious.

The unexpected incident occurred while the national anthems were being played at Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.

The irony is that while King Charles was getting wet, Queen Camilla was immediately given a transparent umbrella, and she hurried to the seats reserved for members of the royal family.

King Charles, on the other hand, remained exposed to the rain until his aide-de-camp, Major Ben Rigby, handed him an umbrella.

According to the Telegraph, it was later clarified that, in accordance with Antigua’s protocol, everyone must remain still and silent during the playing of the national anthem, which is why there was a delay in providing an umbrella to the King of England.

The downpour lasted about five minutes, allowing the program of celebratory events to continue without rain, with King Charles later telling the Prime Minister of Antigua, “I think my suit is about to sprout water sprouts.”
