This was Everton’s second consecutive victory over Newcastle, as they had defeated them 3-1 on Thursday in the League Cup round of 16.
Everton was rewarded for its clever set piece on a free kick, executing it as a pass, with Dusbury-Hall delivering an excellent through ball to George, who beat Hornsek, and Barry tapping the ball into the net.
