The death of Jesús De Miguel, a Tenerife soccer player, came as a huge shock not only in Spain but also throughout the soccer world.
The Spanish team’s forward, suffered a serious head injury following a collision with the opposing goalkeeper and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but he could not be saved.
As a sign of respect for the memory of the tragically lost soccer player, the entire Real Madrid squad observed a minute of silence during their final training session, which took place in Spain, ahead of their Champions League match against AEK. In this way, the Madrid team honored his memory and expressed their support.
