The Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) has expressed its sorrow over the tragic news of the death of soccer player Jesús De Miguel. The Spanish forward for Tenerife, just 30 years old, died a few hours after a violent collision with the Andorra goalkeeper during a second-division match.
“The Board of Directors and the entire Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE) family express their deep sorrow over the loss of Jesús De Miguel, a Tenerife player and member of the Association’s Board of Directors. His death leaves a huge void for all of us who shared with him a passion for soccer, his dedication to the soccer community, and his work in defending the rights of his fellow professional soccer players. The Board of Directors, the AFE staff, and the soccer community extend their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones, as well as to his teammates at Tenerife. In these moments of deep sorrow, we offer them all our love, support, and solidarity. “You will always be part of our family,” reads the statement from the Spanish Footballers’ Union.
