Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first win in a Heat jersey came along with a record. With the 24 points he scored against the Hawks, the 31-year-old superstar reached 138 points in his first five games with his new team. No Miami player had ever scored that many points in his first five appearances. Not LeBron James, not Dwyane Wade, not Chris Bosh—not anyone…
The Greek Freak, however, focused on defense in his comments. “When we play defense, when we guard our opponent, when we focus on that, our offense becomes much easier—we managed to score 129 points. It’s something we worked on in preseason. It’s something we know we’re capable of doing. And the game was easier for us. It was more fun,” said Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 27.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1 steal in 31.5 minutes per game on average.
