His response to a news report stating that Vangelis Liolios claimed in his defense that the former head of ODKE had, by mistake—as he himself had argued, the files containing all sensitive personal data from the past five years to Panathinaikos BC. Panathinaikos BC clarifies that it has repeatedly appealed to the ASEAD “against the illegal actions of the Central Refereeing Committee,” while when it requested the referees’ documents from the ODKE, the latter refused to provide them; however, following a motion for a temporary injunction filed with the Court of First Instance, Panathinaikos prevailed.
“Panathinaikos Basketball Club has repeatedly appealed to the ASEAD against the irregularities of the Central Referees’ Committee. When we sought the relevant documents from the referees of the Hellenic Basketball Referees’ Federation (ODKE) in order to submit them to the ASEAD and requested them via a formal notice, the then-ODKE, through its President, Pantelis Eleftheriadis, refused to provide them to us.
Panathinaikos BC subsequently filed a motion for a temporary order to produce documents before the Athens Court of First Instance, naming ODKE as the opposing party, and the court ruled in our favor.
Pursuant to the temporary order and through a court officer, all relevant documents were obtained, which we have brought to the attention of the authorities.
“Amid the lies of very specific interests, only the truth.”
