The Unified Final Promotion and Graduation Written Exams for high schools and technical and vocational education and training schools began on Monday, May 11, and will conclude on May 23.
Speaking on the Alpha News program, Deputy Director of Secondary General Education Giorgos Koutsidis stated that 23,359 students are taking the exams for the first, second, and third years of high school.
The second round of exams will follow, and at the same time, exams will begin for junior high schools, with 24,100 students taking them. Classes end on May 22, and exams begin on May 25 and end on June 4.
It is noted that the total number of students taking exams is 47,500.
5,200 are scheduled to take the Pan-Cyprian exams from June 8 through June 26.
When asked about air conditioning in the exam rooms, he replied that there have been no issues so far.
On the day after the elections, the exam begins an hour later so that the exam room can be properly prepared.
Responding to a question about whether there had been any problems during the exams so far, he states that there was an issue with the Physics written exam in which the instructions perhaps needed better explanation, with Mr. Koutsidis noting that instructions will be provided to the examiners.
