Two people who reached the top of the Empire State Building’s antenna in New York on Wednesday afternoon are in custody, according to the New York Police Department.
The two masked individuals also appear to have gotten engaged while at the top of the skyscraper.
According to CNN, Angela Nikolaou, who has been identified as one of the two climbers, posted photos and videos of the climb on Instagram, including a shot of her engagement ring with the city in the background.
Her account features dozens of posts showing Nikolaou and her climbing partner, Ivan Birkus, posing atop various buildings and tall structures.

At the top of the antenna on Wednesday afternoon, the couple unfurled a banner with the phrase: “When the power of love conquers the love of power, the world knows peace,” according to videos and photos from the scene.
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, told CNN that the dangerous stunt put city and police authorities, as well as the building’s owners, in a “difficult position.”
“They must do everything they can to ensure that these people are prosecuted on the appropriate charges, because they cannot risk others seeing this and deciding to try it themselves,” said McCabe.
“The last thing the Empire State Building’s management wants is to turn this place into a target for such activities, because it will ultimately lead to some kind of tragedy. The danger here—the recklessness—is obvious and cannot be underestimated,” he added.
It was unclear how the two managed to reach the top of the 443.2-meter-tall landmark.
The antenna at the top of the Empire State Building transmits signals for nearly all of New York City’s local television and radio stations.
