Vangelis Pavlidis reached 70 goals in a Benfica jersey in record time, confirming in the most emphatic way his scoring consistency since moving to Lisbon.
The Greek international forward needed just two full seasons and the start of his third to reach this impressive milestone, having quickly developed into one of Benfica’s most important players.
It all began in the 2024–25 season, when, in his first year with the “Eagles,” Pavlidis found the back of the net 30 times. In other words, he didn’t need much time to adjust, as he demonstrated his scoring ability right from his very first season.
Another productive season followed. In the 2025–26 season, Pavlidis scored another 30 goals, reaching 60 in just two seasons.
And the tally didn’t stop there. At the start of the 2026–27 season, the Greek forward needed just a few weeks to add another 10 goals (in 7 matches!), bringing his total to 70 in a Benfica jersey.
This achievement is even more impressive when you consider how quickly he accomplished it. Pavlidis has already established an impressive scoring streak and is now on track to increase his goal tally even further.
Of his 70 goals, 50 have been scored in the league, 14 in European competitions, and six in the Portuguese Cup. With his third season still in its early stages, Pavlidis has already written an important chapter in his time at Benfica.
