A few hours after his goal in the 90th minute secured Real Madrid’s victory over Espanyol (1-2) in the first matchday of LaLiga, Carlos Espi was officially presented by “Los Blancos” at a simple ceremony at the Santiago Bernabéu, attended by club president Florentino Pérez.
“Hello, Real Madrid fans. I’m very happy about yesterday’s win and my goal. See you soon at the ‘Santiago Bernabéu,’" the 21-year-old forward, who was acquired from Levante for 25 million euros, said in a message.
Espi received a model of Real Madrid’s stadium, a watch, and a jersey with his name and the number 19. Honorary President José Martínez Pirí also attended the event.
