The season in Germany is proceeding as usual, and for the Cup, Osnabrück, a second-division team, hosted Bayern Munich and suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat.
The Bavarians gave their opponents a glimmer of hope when they fell behind in the 5th minute of the match, but they went on to punish them with four goals. It was an easy and comfortable advancement for Vincent Kompany’s team to the round of 32 in the competition, confirming their superiority on the field and the difference in quality.
Meissner struck early in the match, putting his team ahead 1-0, but that lead didn’t last long.
In the 18th minute, Kane did what he does best. The English forward tied the score at 1-1, reigniting the match. The Bavarians completed the comeback in the 24th minute, with Bischof scoring to make it 2-1, sealing the turnaround.
Bayern, however, didn’t stop there, and in the 73rd minute, Olise extended the lead even further, with the Frenchman scoring to make it 3-1. The final goal came once again from the team’s leading scorer, Harry Kane, as the Englishman converted a penalty kick to make the final score 4-1.
