Lionel Messi is expected to make one final appearance in the Argentine national team jersey, according to reports from an Argentine journalist.
The 39-year-old superstar is expected to be included in the “Albiceleste” for the upcoming friendly matches, in order to play one last time for the national team and bid farewell to the squad with which he made history.
Argentina will face Bolivia on September 30, Burkina Faso on October 3, and Benin on October 6, though it remains unclear in which of the three matches Messi will play.
The Argentine legend had announced on August 31 his decision to retire from the national team.
During his illustrious career with Argentina, he has made 207 appearances, scoring 125 goals and providing 68 assists, and has won, among other titles, the World Cup, two Copa América titles, and the Finalissima.
