Brentford made a mockery of a disappointing Chelsea and crushed them 3-0, scoring all their goals in the second half! The “Blues’” defense was a joke once again
Keith Andrews was smiling, unable to believe what he was watching and what his soccer fate had in store for him.
Meanwhile, on the other bench, Xabi Alonso couldn’t figure out exactly why Chelsea, for 21 consecutive league matches, has failed to keep a clean sheet and has conceded 12 goals conceded in just 5 matches!
And while the “Bees” remain undefeated and currently sit in 3rd place in the standings, Chelsea heads into the league break with major concerns about a wide range of on-field issues. And, of course, Alonso bears a huge share of the responsibility for everything that’s happened on the field so far.
In the 61st minute, Schuster headed the ball off the far post following a corner kick, setting up an unmarked Anthony for a header in the near post to make it 1-0.
The score became 2–0 in the 83rd minute, when Sande broke through on the attack into open space, beating the “Blues’” offside trap, with Martinez saving the one-on-one, but Igor Thiago finishing the match off on the rebound.
And as if that weren’t enough, from a throw-in on the sideline in stoppage time, the defense failed to clear the danger; once again, the home team moved the ball intelligently, and Schuster’s pass to Carvalho at the far post sealed the final 3-0 score!
