Written statement by Government Spokesperson Mr. Konstantinos Letympiotis regarding the visit of the President of Palestine to Cyprus
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will pay a working visit to Cyprus on October 29–30, and will meet with the President of the Republic, Mr. Nicos Christodoulides.
According to Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letympiotis, the two Presidents will hold a one-on-one meeting tomorrow morning at the Presidential Palace, followed by a working lunch.
This will be the third meeting between the two Presidents since President Christodoulides was elected to the Presidency of the Republic, with the most recent meeting having taken place in May 2025 in Palestine.
Tomorrow’s meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations between Cyprus and Palestine, the situation in the region and the humanitarian role Cyprus has assumed through the “Amalthea” humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza, EU-Palestine relations, as well as the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.
Cyprus and Palestine are linked by long-standing historical ties and close bonds, both at the political level and in other sectors, as well as through cooperation between the two peoples.
