A trip into nature to pick mushrooms turned into a tragedy. The victim was 75-year-old Militsa Fanti from Nicosia, who had traveled to the Kampos area with her son.
Yesterday afternoon, while picking mushrooms under circumstances currently under police investigation, the unfortunate woman lost her balance and fell 500 meters down a cliff.
“A few minutes before 4:00 p.m., while she was in the area picking mushrooms—under circumstances currently under police investigation— the 75-year-old woman fell down a cliff, sustaining a head injury,”

Her son tried in vain to reach her. Fellow villagers of the unfortunate Militsa also rushed to the scene and climbed down into the ravine.
An ambulance and police officers were called to the scene. After pulling her from the cliff, she was transported to Nicosia General Hospital. A short time later, the unfortunate woman succumbed to her injuries.
The exact cause of death of the 75-year-old woman will be determined by the legally required autopsy, which is expected to be performed tomorrow.
