Police investigations are continuing to locate 44-year-old Andreas, who, according to evidence currently under review, was wearing a T-shirt with a police logo and asking citizens for money, even managing to defraud some of them.
According to a police statement, which released his photograph and personal details, is wanted to assist with investigations into an ongoing case involving the acquisition of goods through false representations and impersonation, offenses committed between February and October, 2026 in the Nicosia District.

Anyone with information that may help locate him is asked to contact the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department at 22802222, the nearest police station, or the Citizen’s Hotline at 1460.

This is a con artist who pretends to be a police officer and tries to extort money from unsuspecting citizens. The suspect, using various pretexts—including the alleged payment or settlement of out-of-court fines— managed to gain the complainants’ trust and extort money from them.
In all cases, he wore a T-shirt bearing the Police logo, and the victims appear to have been primarily elderly individuals. In one case, the amount was 50 euros; in another, 10 euros. The two cases took place in Kalo Chorio, Larnaca, and the other two in Nicosia.
According to what Alpha correspondent Katerina Ioannou reported on the “Alpha Enimerosi” program, footage from closed-circuit surveillance cameras was obtained, leading the police to identify the 44-year-old suspect, who is currently wanted.
