The Trilateral Summit between Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt is taking place today in El Alamein, with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, along with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Trilateral Summit will begin at 1 p.m., and upon its conclusion, the three leaders will make statements to the media.
The summit will address critical geopolitical developments in the region, as well as the strengthening of trilateral relations.
Prior to the Trilateral Summit, President Christodoulides will hold a bilateral meeting with his Egyptian counterpart.
As part of his visit, the President of the Republic will attend, as an honored guest of President Sisi, the opening ceremony of the El-Alamein International Airshow.

As President Christodoulides had stated, the three countries can, “through a positive approach,” contribute to creating conditions of security and cooperation in a region of particular geostrategic importance.
The Mecca Agreement, signed on August 7 between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, is also expected to be discussed at the summit.
Furthermore, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letympiotis had stated that the Trilateral Summit is taking place at a particularly important juncture for the broader region.
“In light of broader geopolitical developments, the importance of stable and long-standing cooperation between Cyprus and Egypt is highlighted even more, as well as the value of close coordination through regional cooperation frameworks, with particular emphasis on the trilateral partnership between Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt,” he noted.
He added that the trilateral framework has established itself as an important mechanism for regional coordination and cooperation, capitalizing on the geographical location of the three countries, Cyprus’ and Greece’s membership in the European Union, and Egypt’s particularly important role in the Arab world and the broader region.
Regarding relations between Cyprus and Egypt, he noted that they are rooted in long-standing historical and political ties and have, in recent years, expanded and deepened significantly, having now been institutionally upgraded to the level of a Strategic Partnership. Cooperation between the two countries, he added, spans a wide range of sectors, with particular emphasis on energy, security, the economy, and close political and diplomatic coordination regarding regional and international developments.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesperson, and other officials.
