A major last-minute problem for Real Madrid ahead of tonight’s away Clásico against Barcelona (10:00 p.m.).
As announced by the “Merengues,” they will take the field at Camp Nou without their starting goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois. The reason is that the Belgian goalkeeper is ill and will not be able to play in the big derby.
“Courtois has been ruled out of tonight’s La Liga match between Real Madrid and Barcelona due to the flu. Ilya Voloshin has been called up to the team to replace him,” the club’s announcement states.
Andriy Lunin is expected to take Courtois’s place in goal, making his first appearance of the season.
