According to a report on the Greek website Athletiko.gr, APOEL has reached a verbal agreement with Tasos Donis.
In fact, as reported by Aris Thessaloniki reporter Alexis Savvopoulos, all that remains is for the Greek forward to reach an agreement with the “yellow-and-blacks” and leave as a free agent.
As a reminder, Donis wore the APOEL jersey for three seasons, making 77 appearances, scoring 15 goals, and providing 14 assists.
The report states: “One of them appears to be Tasos Donis. The Greek attacking midfielder is unlikely to find the playing time he’d like following the recent moves in the attacking midfield, where competition—even for a spot on the 23-man roster—has become particularly fierce.
Verbal Agreement with APOEL
According to information from Athletiko, Tasos Donis has reached a verbal agreement with APOEL, and the next step is to work out the terms for terminating his contract with Aris. The player will need to reach an agreement with the “yellow-and-blacks” in order to become a free agent and then complete his return to Cyprus, returning to the club coached by Nikos Papadopoulos for a second stint.
For Aris, a possible departure by Donis would free up a spot in the team’s… crowded midfield, something that has now become a key priority for the “yellow-and-blacks.” With the transfer window in Greece closing on September 15, Aris will seek to further thin out its roster, either by terminating some contracts or by sending some young players out on loan.”
