The recent internal tensions within DISY during the process of selecting a presidential candidate have brought the party’s anti-Akel reflexes back into the public discourse, with many party officials sounding the alarm about the possibility of the Left returning to power. In light of this, proposals have been put forward in recent weeks on how this possibility could be averted through some prior agreement between DISY and Nicos Christodoulides, to mutually support each other in the second round of the elections.
