Here are his remarks in full:
Opening comment: “We conceded the goals in the second half; that was the difference. Overall, I believe we played a very, very good game. The players were outstanding in the first half; they wanted to score, and we could have scored more goals. In games like this, the details make all the difference. What we did today was at the highest level for us, and the players should be proud of the way they played and fought, and of how close they came to victory. We didn’t carry that attention to detail over into the second half. The goals we conceded could have been avoided, but when you play in Europe against better teams, the margins are small, and you get punished more easily than in the domestic league when you’re not 100% in the right positions. We’re disappointed that we didn’t get anything out of this game.”
Is Omonia still in the running for qualification? “We fought as hard as we could in the first four games. We won the first two matches, then we played against two very strong teams that showed their quality. I think we’re doing well; I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I like our approach and our performance in these games.”
