After defeating Borac and Kaitar, the “clover” also defeated CSKA Sofia in a lackluster performance, squandering huge chances and numerous one-on-ones that could have allowed them to prevail with greater ease and composure.
An assist with a heel flick and a lucky goal—but also skill and… a touch of magic from Taborda— Calabria had opened the scoring; Nystrup’s team’s inability to keep a clean sheet in Europe this season remains an open wound, as they “blew” yet another clean sheet.
The lineups for both teams:
Panathinaikos: Peña, Calabria, De Vrij, Van Drongelen, Kyriakopoulos, Louza (65’ Kamara), Kangwa, Levi (75’ Desers), Taborda, Adino (85’ Jagusic), Rastonder (64’ Tetei)
CSKA: Lapukov, Pastor (55’ Worou), Almeida, Gbamen, Sensi (70’ Brahim), Godoy, Ivanov, Martino, Yordanov, Pitas, Sole (46’ Zordão)
