Ricardo Sa Pinto focused on the red card following Paphos’s 3-1 loss to Twente in the third matchday of the Conference League’s League Phase.
The Portuguese coach noted that his team was unable to cope with the pressure while down a man, but despite the loss, he expressed pride in his players and stated his confidence that positive results will come, as the team has shown it is capable.
In detail: “We started well, played well, scored first, had chances for a second goal, and conceded a goal on a set piece against a team with tall players. Their goalkeeper also made one or two good saves. We conceded the red card, and from that point on, it was difficult to cope. I’m proud of my players. It was another game where we were unlucky. We showed that we’re a good team, and because we’re a good team, the results will come.”
