Barcelona put their loss to Real Madrid behind them and returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, defeating Alavés 6-1 at Camp Nou in the 11th round of LaLiga. The Catalans maintained their top spot in the standings, reaching 30 points.
The “Blaugrana” came out strong from the start and made sure to seal the victory in the first half. In the 8th minute, Rafinha opened the scoring, following an assist from Fermín López, who then took on the role of scorer himself, making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute after a pass from Lamine Yamal.
Hansie Flick’s team continued at the same pace and increased their lead even further before halftime. Rafinha found the back of the net again in the 41st minute, with Fermin providing his second assist of the game, while in stoppage time of the first half, Yamal made it 4-0, capitalizing on a pass from João Cancelo.
In the second half, Barcelona managed its lead, with Flick making substitutions and giving more players some playing time. The scoring spree didn’t stop there, however, as the home team added two more goals through Yamal (64′) and Gordon (82′), celebrating a comfortable victory and remaining at the top of LaLiga with 30 points. All Alavés managed to do was pull one back with a goal by Díaz in the 84th minute, making the final score 6-1.
Earlier, Rayo Vallecano defeated Celta 3-0, earning three crucial points at “Vallecas.” Jorge de Frutos opened the scoring in the 36th minute and scored his second goal of the match in the 55th minute, while Unai López sealed the final score in the 73rd minute.
In Seville, Betis defeated Málaga 2-1. Bartra in the 38th minute and Fornals in stoppage time of the first half gave the home team a two-goal lead, with Nino pulling one back in the 68th minute, but nothing changed from there until the final whistle. Betis thus reached 23 points and climbed back up to fourth place in the standings.
